SIM800L GSM Module With Aerial

Price

R325,00

The SIM800L is a quad-band GSM/GPRS module that gives any microcontroller the ability to make calls, send and receive SMS, and connect to the internet via GPRS — on any standard SIM card. Supplied with aerial for South African network compatibility, it's the standard choice for remote IoT monitoring and alarm systems.

🔹 Key Applications

  • Remote SMS alert systems for alarms, sensors, and monitoring
  • GPRS data upload from remote weather or environmental stations
  • GPS tracker with GSM position reporting
  • Automated SMS notifications from industrial systems
  • Remote asset tracking and fleet management
  • Emergency call systems in remote installations

🔹 Why Choose This Module?

  • Quad-band GSM — works on all South African networks (Vodacom, MTN, Cell C)
  • SMS, voice call, and GPRS data — complete cellular communication
  • AT command interface — standard and widely documented
  • Supplied with aerial — ready to connect in SA
  • Low power sleep modes — ideal for battery-powered remote systems

🔹 Pro Tip

💡 The SIM800L requires a clean 3.7–4.2 V supply capable of 2 A peak — a standard 3.3 V regulator is insufficient. Use a dedicated LiPo cell or a low-dropout 4 V regulator with 1000 µF decoupling capacitor. Registration failures ('No network') are almost always a power supply issue, not a network problem.

⚠️ Note: Always ensure proper heat dissipation and correct voltage configuration before powering connected devices.
